What we collect, and why
We ask for as little as possible. The booking form asks for a name, a phone number and an email address, and nothing else. No date of birth, no address, no gender, no "how did you hear about us".
| Data | Purpose | Legal basis | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| Name, phone, email | Making and confirming your appointment | Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) | 24 months after your last appointment |
| Your own note on the booking | Serving your appointment properly | Performance of a contract | With the appointment |
| The barber's notes | Serving you better on a return visit | Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) | Until you ask us to delete it, or 24 months without an appointment |
| Appointment history and amounts | Service delivery and bookkeeping | Contract and legal obligation | Personal data removed after 24 months; amounts and dates kept in anonymised form for the statutory bookkeeping period |
| IP address | Preventing abuse of the form | Legitimate interest | 24 hours, expiring automatically |
| Waiting-list request | Telling you when a slot opens up | Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) | Until your period has passed, 90 days maximum |
Who else sees your data
We do not sell anything on and we do not build advertising profiles. To run this website and send email we work with two processors:
- Cloudflare: hosting, database and storage. Data processing agreement through their terms.
- Resend: sending your confirmation and reminder.
Cookies and measurement
We set no tracking cookies and use no advertising pixels. Our visitor statistics run on Cloudflare Web Analytics, which works without cookies and does not recognise you across websites. That is why there is no cookie banner here. What we do store is listed in our cookie policy.
Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability. In practice:
- Access: the link in your confirmation email shows everything we hold about that appointment.
- Rectification: you can correct your details when you reschedule, or you can ask us.
- Erasure: email us and we delete your client record, your appointments and your waiting-list requests. Amounts and dates are kept in anonymised form because bookkeeping law requires it.
- Withdrawing consent: for the waiting list you can do this at any time, using the link in the email.
A question or a complaint
Please ask us first. We answer every request within one month. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority, Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels, contact@apd-gba.be, www.dataprotectionauthority.be.
Changes
If anything changes about how we handle your data we update this page and change the date at the top.
